It is no secret that weddings are expensive. Yet most of us can't stop dreaming about that one beautiful, special day. Brides therefore continually ponder about where to cut on those over-the-top wedding expenses.
As an "ex-bride" myself, and a friend of many other "ex-brides", here is a list of the Top 5 items where brides can minimize costs without losing that special touch on their wedding day.
1. Guest thank you gifts
While it is wonderful thanking your guests for sharing your special day with you, most gifts usually end up lying on the table after the wedding. I myself have fudge, keychains etc. somewhere in a cupboard that eventually just get thrown out. Therefore, don't be afraid to save on this item. Everybody loves mints! Or a small block of chocolate. This with a personal thank you note is more than enough to thank your guests. They are already enjoying a lovely three-course meal, live entertainment and/or entertaining DJ's. The gift should be the cherry on top, not the whole dessert.

2. Flowers
Flowers are expensive. There is no way getting around that. It comes at a premium price, even at some of the most affordable florists. Luckily, there are other items that work just as beautifully as table decor. You can save a lot by using your flowers as the compliment, instead of the main feature. Minimalist designs are also a huge trend at the moment. Visit Pinterest to get some of the best ideas.

3. Wedding Cake/Dessert
There is no point in having a large wedding cake as well as dessert at your wedding. One or the other will be wasted. If you want that over the top cake - ask your venue if they can do a two-course meal at a lower price that don't include dessert. Otherwise, buy a small cake for you and your husband to cut, or consider not having a cake at all. You don't always have to follow the status quo.

4. Hidden Venue Fees
Do proper investigation when deciding on a venue. A lot of venues ask various added costs that you don't always see from the get go. These include, but are not limited to: venue hire fee, waiter fee, extra service fee, barmen fee, bar set-up fee, VAT, linen fees and travelling costs. There are venues that only ask a fee per head and already include VAT on their package costs from the start. Others may require that you pay for the waiters' transport, for the bar to be set-up (even though it is a built-in bar) etc. These costs go through the roof. You can save a lot by going with a supplier that only asks a "per head' fee with no hidden or added extras.

5. Luxurious invitations
Of course luxurious invites are beautiful, but unfortunately they eventually end up in the trash. Save on the costs by sending e-invites, or printing your invitations yourself. This is where we come to the rescue. You can have beautiful invites without breaking the bank. Feel free to shop our designs here: https://www.eventblueprint.net/shop-designs

Brides, it is important to remember what your wedding day is about. It will be magical, and beautiful regardless of what you spend. The only thing that matters to you on that day is the bond that is created between you and your husband. It is a special feeling that can't be explained, but only experienced on your wedding day. Never lose sight of the love that will make your day extraordinary.
Love,
